LONGi Shares (601012) published announcement in the evening of March 14th that it will sign component sales contract with Baofeng Ningxia Group Co., Ltd in March 13, 2016 in Lingwu city of Ningxia. The two sides have reached agreement that LERRI Solar will sale mono crystal components to Baofeng Ningxia Group or its subsidiaries, which involving about 1.4 billion yuan.
The 700MW photovoltaic projects of Baofeng Group are all using mono crystal components. It is estimated that LERRI Solar involves 350MW mono crystal components in this cooperation, who head the list by accounting for around 50%. In addition, it is noteworthy that the suppliers of the other 350MW mono crystal components have still been unknown. According to an informed source, the other orders are shared by Trina Solar, Canadian Solar Inc. and GCL System. They achieved cooperation by all winning the 330W single crystal components bidding.
Due to the previous year's brewing, the mono crystal's regressive trend in the domestic market is becoming more apparent. Trina Solar and Canadian Solar Inc. plan to increase the output of mono crystal components. GCL System invested 10GW mono crystal project heavily in Ningxia, which may cause the gradually release the capacity of mono crystal this year. According to relevant experts' prediction, the mono crystal capacity of GCL System will release about 1GW.
In fact, the trend of the mono crystal is very obvious in the actual supply process. In Japan, for example, 90% of the exhibits are mono crystal products. Exhibitors like Trina Solar, Canadian Solar Inc., Hanwha SolarOne, Suntech and JA Solar are all main mono crystal products exhibitors. and another main multi crystal supplier Jinko Solar also exhibited their mono crystal products under this condition. The future market share of the mono crystal will achieve rapid growth form the current 28%. It is expected that the mono crystal market share will exceed 45% in the crystalline silicon cell market in 2018.
From the perspective of the entire photovoltaic manufacturing industry, the mono crystal manufacturers are in the state of full production and expansion. The domestic mono crystal leader Loogy Shares just laid a foundation of a 3GW mono crystal project at the beginning of the year in Ningxia, and the production capacity will reach 6.5GW this year. The capacity of the mono crystal components of its subsidiary corporation LERRI Solar is expected to reach 5GW by the end of the year. LG Company in South Korea costed 435million dollars to expand its battery production line. It announced that the production capacity of its N type mono crystal silicon cells will be tripled in the year of 2020. In addition, American battery manufacturers SolarCity、SolarWorld, and the main battery manufacturers in Taiwan like The New SunMotech and Gintech all have their mono crystal's expansion plan.
In addition, besides the traditional crystalline silicon cell components manufacturers, more and more companies are paying close attention to the single crystal. Some time ago, Zhonglai Shares financed 1.52 billion yuan for N type single crystal cell project, which shocked the industry and capital market. In early February, Pingmei Shenma Group signed an agreement with LONGi Shares. The two sides will jointly fund a solar monocrystalline cell project with an annual output of 2GW in Baofeng County. They will strengthen cooperation in the field of project construction and operation, raw material supply, technical support, personnel training etc. So far, the large state-owned enterprise group Pingmei Shenma Group which dominated by energy chemical industry has boldly driven in the solar mono crystal battery production areas.
In the process of battery manufacturing, the mono polysilicon follows the same process like velvet—diffusion—etching—coating--screen printing—sintering. Other processes are aim to control standard differences which are mainly appears in the velvet process. The mono polysilicon uses different velvet machines.
